NANCY WOPPERT

PRAISE TEAM DIRECTOR

Nan Woppert has been leader of the Only Grace Praise Band at Grace Church since 2006. As Praise Team Director, she is responsible for choosing the music for worship each week and leading the band in rehearsals and during the Contemporary Worship Service. Her previous experience in the music ministry at Grace include being a member of the Sanctuary Choir since 1980 and being the director of the Chapel Choir for approximately 12 years.  For many years, she has also led the music annually at Vacation Bible School. Other involvements at Grace include the United Methodist Women, teaching Sunday School, being a member of the Volunteers in Mission team, Food pantry volunteer, Confirmation mentor and serving at Sharing Table and Martha’s Meal. After graduating from Aberdeen High School, she attended Northern Virginia Community College and became a Certified Dental Assistant. She worked in that field for just over 4 years before staying home with her children. In September of 1992, she joined the staff of Grace Cooperative Nursery School. She taught there for 22 years, retiring in May of 2015.
